Stained Glass
This project is about how to reform the traditional techniques of lead framing glass into a sculptural form. Our contribution has been to reform an old craft and show it in a new and modern context. A new material is represented in a sculptural form that shows how much potential this material has. It is not a piece of art, nor a traditional practical object, but something in between.
This is a way of questioning the norm and search for new possibilities. We wanted to challenge a very static materiale which has until now only has been used in a two dimensional context. With this piece we open up for new a materiale, with inspiration from the past. We see this new materiale as ideas for for small product design, and in a larger scale as facade cladding.
